WHO: Deb Geller and Brandon Stone
WHERE: The Jungle
WHEN: June 9th, morning.
WHAT: Rescue, obviously.
One night and an entire day. Not the longest she'd ever been out in the jungle on her own, since running off had been almost a past time of hers as a teen, but it was more troubling nowadays. There hadn't been zombies crowded around the base of the hunting platform she was hiding out in back then. Peaking over the edge, Deb cursed under her breath. There was no way she could make her way down and past that many of them with her machete and a slightly fucked up knee. If it hadn't been for the runner the first night catching her off guard, none of this would have been a problem. But it had, and now she was hiding out like some frightened girl because she couldn't fight her way through the cluster of zombies below. Not when she could barely put any weight on her knee, at least. Deb just had to wait for them to go away, to get distracted and move out. Or at least thin out some. If they would just thin out she could risk getting through them, she was getting better at taking them out with nothing more then determination and her machete. But it seemed like the wildlife nearby was content to avoid the area, probably scared off by the constant hum of zombie's moaning their interest in her flesh.. in a morbid way that wasn't so dissimilar from busy nights at the bar, actually. Rolling so she was staring up at the sky instead of the groaning mass below, Deb frowned when she realized the sun was already starting to disappear. "Fuck," she muttered. Repeating the curse a few more times, just for good measure. Another night out here, then. She still had a little water left, but she wasn't excited to deal with the drop in temperature again. The light hoodie she brought with her sucked as a blanket. It took awhile, between her irritation at being stuck out in the jungle another night, and the occasional groan that stood out among the others, but eventually she fell asleep with plans to head out, one way or another, come dawn. Except exhaustion took hold, dawn came and went, and she was only jolted awake by the sound of something decidedly non-zombie nearby. |
