"You are an oddity around here - which I appreciate, by the way. I don't have the bedside to keep comforting people about their chances over and over when they don't actually seem to believe me anyways." She just wasn't patient enough really.
"Worried about my naivety, now? It ingrained in you to play hero for helpless little ladies in any situation?" Her grin never shifted though, because she was definitely just teasing him. "Don't worry, I promise not to believe you if you try and convince me the sky is green." Which might just have made him the first patient to actually offer his hand or care to get to know one of the medics right now. "Would have preferred under better circumstances, but it's nice to meet you too."
Cassidy bobbed her head in agreement. "That's how I've always felt about it, but to each their own. Some people find comfort in going to the darkest outcome they can imagine, apparently. I don't get, never will, but I can respect it." Pause. "Doesn't stop me from pointing out the positive possibilities still though." He really did remind her a lot of her partner, which made her miss him more and made her glad all at the same time. "If I hadn't met Ross' family, I would seriously be wondering if you two weren't somehow related right now." She pursed her lips, but a laugh slipped free anyways. "That sounds unbearable, how do you manage?" Actually, getting treated like one of the guys seemed to be fairly standard, so his choice to keep being flirty was something new and different. And the obviously played up accent was really just too much. "You're totally incorrigible. No wonder the girls get caught up in your charm." She pulled a leg up and tucked her foot under, getting more comfortable. "Not even if it's good advice?"
"Only if it's a good one." Cassidy smiled back, shaking her head. "Do the horses buck you off if you don't meet the cocky quota? I'm just curious, is all." She leaned forward, expression going wide with sudden wonderment (that was a little genuine, but mostly exaggerated). "Tell me you wear the hat too and not just the boots." She leaned back again, letting her grin morph back to mild amusement. "I've never met a genuine cowboy before."
