It occurred to Logan that his refusal to answer her question could very well turn into Louisa asking her about it later, but it was a bridge she decided to cross only if she had too. Because maybe this time she cared more if what she had to say would upset the spitfire's dad - especially when it wasn't even like they were something (that was starting to sound like a lie even in her head).
"Seriously doubt it." Leaning closer and lowering her voice, though not really enough to actually stop Nate from overhearing completely. "You're forgetting I've got all the pointers on how to get around my dad's advice." She was also pretty sure she had uttered those same words petulantly at Sydney when they were teens, so all she could do was shake her head in amusement. "It's got its moments," she conceded.
Logan pulled one back, shrugging her shoulder. "Gotta get my kicks somewhere. Entertainment is kind of limited right now." There wasn't even a trace of apology to her tone.
"Are you insinuating I look like a liar?" Logan met his disbelief with nothing but innocence on her face, totally played up and not likely to actually help her case. "Could always ask Syd too."
There was no hesitation in matching the grin, both because it was infectious and because Logan was genuinely proud. Which didn't change in the slightest as Louisa kept trying, because a dead center shot was difficult to nail.
"Now you've arrow retrieval. Important step against targets and zombies alike. If you can get it safely, don't leave behind your arrows - we don't have that many of them to start with." She didn't actually plan to help collect, except for maybe a couple arrows in one of the taller targets, but Logan stood up. And because she couldn't resist, especially when she felt pretty sure Lou wasn't paying that close of attention, she took her sweet time carefully brushing the dirt from the back of her thighs. Paying particular attention to the edge of her cut offs before pulling her hands forward to loop her thumbs in her pockets. She glanced over her shoulder with a devious smirk, then turned her attention back to Louisa. "You want to go for another round of shooting, or call it good for today?" Her choice, because Logan figured people learned better when you didn't push them too far in the first go.
