"Next time you'll actually know how to use it," Logan pointed out. Not quite verbally agreeing with the bold claim, but close. Her protest truly had just been over thinking it unwise for anyone to use a weapon they didn't understand, could be dangerous. She really didn't want to be responsible for Louisa getting hurt.
Glancing down at the even shorter than herself girl (though really not by all of that much, much to her displeasure), she couldn't help but grin at the groan. "Not a fan of running? I wasn't when I was your age either, now I'm running twice a day usually." As much to burn off her own energy as anything else. "Can kinda see where your dad's coming from though, couple laps out here probably won't even wind a spitfire like you." Turning the grin back toward Nate for a moment, "How do you usually wear her out?" Curious more than an actual interest. Energy would be a bonus here, using the crossbow in a completely controlled setting would be much easier.
Though his presence was very apparent in her peripheral, it was much easier to just focus on Lou right now. If only because she was fairly confidant that whatever was going on between them, fun as it was, wasn't something he wanted to explain to his eleven year old.
At that news Logan couldn't help but turn a raised eyebrow toward Nate, giving him a clear really? look. Guess that answered the question all the same though, if she hadn't even been allowed to mess with it they were coming in blind. "Was probably afraid you'd shoot him on 'accident', dad's with feisty daughters get nervous about handing them loaded weapons." Crouching down so she was more on level with the youth, "How 'bout we hold off on loading it for a second and work on your stance first though. Gotta know how to hold it once it's hot or you might accidentally fire it." Dropping her voice slightly, making it clear this was between them but not actually trying to really whisper. "Which I think we can agree your dad would jump on saying I told you so about, yeah? So let's prove him wrong instead." Miming for Louisa to life the crossbow up, "Point it out like you're aiming at that tree over there and hold it back against your shoulder."
