Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter
WHAT: Following their slight argument in the journals Ginny finds she can't sleep for worrying over Harry, and so she pays him a visit.
WHEN: September 2, 2002; 1am
WHERE: Harry and Ron's flat, Bath, England
RATING: TBA
STATUS: Incomplete

She had tossed and turned for nearly four hours by the time she had decided to simply give it up. It wasn't the first argument she had gotten into with Harry in their years of dating and it certainly wouldn't be there last. Unlike Ron and Hermione they didn't genuinely fight all that often, and it was even less often that their fights were the explosive sort. Instead they tended to have small arguments that had them both keeping their distance for a while.

But this one....it seemed different. She was worried that she had genuinely hurt Harry, and he simply hadn't let on in his need to protect himself at all times. That was the reason she couldn't sleep, aside from the obvious dilemma where she just honestly missed seeing him.

With a small sigh of defeat Ginny crawled out of her warm bed, reaching for a cloak in her closet before jamming her feet into her scuffed trainers. Closing her hand around her wand she concentrated, apparating from her own flat in London to Harry and Ron's shared flat in Bath. It was a bit pathetic to admit that this wasn't the first (nor would it be the last) late night visit she had paid to the apartment for various reasons but it was that fact that allowed her to navigate both the protective wards, the muggle locks, and the creaky fifth stair to get to Harry's room.

Likewise she didn't knock, sure that Harry was either still awake studying or wouldn't be remotely surprised to find her crawling into bed with him - since it was a common occurrence after a fight between them. But she did keep her wand drawn as she unlocked the door with it and entered the room. You could never be too sure that he wouldn't forget his surroundings if he was asleep and attack. It hadn't happened yet, but there was a first time for everything.

Harry sighed as she crawled next to him, and settled back onto the bed, moving his textbook away from the bed and onto the floor, with an unintentionally loud thump that made him jump a little, even if he expected it. He settled immediately into curling up with her. This was routine, really - they fought, they felt like idiots, they cuddled. He had set their argument aside in his mind in favour of focusing on his work, and as he mulled it over now, it really was stupid. He pressed a kiss to her temple, wrapping an arm over her.

"M'sorry. I was being a prat again," he whispered.

"Harry, no." she replied, already shifting her head slightly to get a better look at him. "I shouldn't have said that to you. It was terrible of me. Your busy, you've got other things on your mind and I just have to understand that. Becoming an Auror is more important. And I didn't mean all of that like it sounded. I just want you to be happy." During her explanation of her actions she had moved closer to him, offering a sheepish smile before pressing her lips against his cheek. "I really am sorry."

"S'fine," Harry mumbled sleepily into the side of her head, just next to her ear. "Don't. Maybe I was a prat. Maybe we were both prats. But s'fine, right?" He fisted her shirt, pulling her closer and sighing.

"I am happy," he insisted, which may not have been true overall, but it was true in that moment. "You going to stay?"

"Yes, its fine." she smiled, ignoring the goosebumps that prickled across her skin with Harry's close proximity to her ear and the lower pitch to his voice that always seemed to happen when he was tired. As he pulled her closer Ginny gave a sigh of her own, slipping one arm around his waist.

"Sometimes." Ginny responded softly, her eyes roaming over his face as if she could determine exactly how happy he was just by simply looking at him. "I'll stay if you want me too."

Harry lifted his eyes to peer into hers, before wordlessly removing his glasses again and reaching behind him to set them on the dresser. He turned and gave her a lopsided, weary smile. "Stay, then," he said, and kissed her briefly on the nose.

With his free hand, he dug underneath his pillow, withdrew his wand, and he whispered a spell so that the lights went out. "Forgot to turn them off," he sighed. "Hate it when I do that."

"It didn't look like you were planning to sleep at all." she muttered, gesturing towards the papers still piled on the floor below them. As the lights went off she sighed, closing her eyes as she made herself comfortable pressed against his body.

"Harry, how much longer until you take your exams?"
