Who: Susan Bones & Terry Boot
What: Baking good fun times
Where: Susan's place
When: Evening
Rating: G
Status: Incomplete

Susan was just tidying up her lonely empty apartment before Terry arrived. After the fight they had she wouldn't mind seeing him and hoping things had gone back to normal. They had at least made up through owl when Terry had sent a letter to her. Susan had put the gift in her room on her bookshelf and was quite happy with it. She loved it and she thought it added a little something to the room. Susan was going to have to show Terry the location she put it in when he arrived. Honestly she couldn't wait for him to come over because this place was eerie when she was all alone. Patrick couldn't move in soon enough.

Susan was sitting on the couch waiting for Terry to arrive. She was still upset they had a fight but she could understand his position. He was just worried about her and not everyone had to like everyone. Susan just didn't want any issues with Patrick living here and Terry being her friend. Susan sat flipping through a magazine waiting for Terry to arrive.

The first thing Terry had been worried about was whether or not Patrick would be there. He had been arguing internally all day, forcing himself to admit there was no logical reason for him to dislike the bloke. He just didn't. It seemed he could find a million excuses as to why he didn't like the guy, but none solid. Still, he had a baking session with Susan so it was best not to worry about the guy.

Grabbing his apron, and his guitar because he wanted to test a song out on her, Terry smiled and made his way to Susan's flat. He knocked on the door and chuckled. "Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusie Q, where are you?"

Susan heard Terry which caused her to jump off the couch and toss the magazine. She moved towards the door and yanked it open with a grin. "TERRY!" She said with excitement and wrapped her arms around to hug him. Susan felt the need to hug him after the fight because she wanted to make sure they were good. Finally pulling away she made room for him to come in through the door and smiled at him. "So what are we baking today as this is for James."

"I have no bloody clue, really. He wasn't too happy with my breakfast." Terry hugged Susan, giving her a kiss on her forehead before walking in the flat. He put down his guitar case, taking his apron out. "Maybe chocolate cake or something. Or cupcakes! If I make him cupcakes then maybe he'll love me more." He couldn't possibly love me more though. Even I knew that.

"Wow, your flat is clean."

"Well I could teach you to make breakfast," Susan looked at Terry and laughed. "Maybe that shall happen another day. How about we stick to cupcakes and you can write lovey dovey messages on them." Susan laughed some more as she looked at him and then down to his guitar case. "Do you plan on playing me something? Serenade me as I bake?" Susan moved to get her own apron not trusting Terry since the war of frosting.

"I know and I would like to keep it that way this time." She laughed a little as she tied her apron around her waist. "I just hope Patrick isn't too messy but I don't mind cleaning," Just as she said Patrick's name she wished she hadn't.

Terry forcefully bit down on his bottom lip, tying his apron and knotting it. He could handle that guy's name. He could. He sighed, running a hand through his hair and smiled. "I actually wanted to test a song on you. I wrote it for James and..."

He grinned, looping an arm around Susan's waist. "Come on, let's get to those cupcakes. I still need to beg for forgiveness for befriending his sort of boss."

"Ooo test away, but James and who?" Susan raised an eyebrow at him but felt him loop his arm around her waist and escort her to her kitchen. "Okay you do need to beg for forgiveness and these cup cakes are amazing. My grandmum's recipe. Family trade secret so shhh." Susan put her finger up to her lips. "Mum's the word." Winking she went about her kitchen pulling out her bowls and measuring cups. "Want to get some milk and eggs from the fridge, oh and some butter." She pointed behind her to the fridge. "Promise me there will not be a frosting war this time when we make it."

"No frosting wars. Got it. And it was really less a who and more a what. I just want James to know how much I love him." Terry smirked, moving to gather the ingredients from the fridge. He made sure to pay extra attention so he could do it again some other time. A time when he could have a frosting war with somebody. Preferably James.

He put the things on the counter and smiled. "This is going to be fun!"

"Well it took a while to clean last time, I didn't expect it to be that hard." Susan shrugged not really caring it had taken so long to clean but would prefer not to do it again. "Though if you really want a frosting war I could give you some extra so you could take it home to James." She smirked and then nodded her head as he mentioned James. "Well I am sure he will know and I am sure he already does but a song is always nice." She got out the flower and the coco powder and started dropping the ingredients into the bowl from memory without a recipe. "So how chocolately do we want these?"

"Really, really chocolatey and sweet!" Terry smiled, making mental notes on how much of what she put in. "And I'm sorry for creating a mess last time. It was just so easy. You really need to stop being such an easy target!"

He chuckled and tried to help, though was afraid he was only making a big mess. "So how's work?"

"I can do that. I can also put chunks in so that when you bite into there are chunks and if he got them warm and fresh they would be gooey. So that might be worth a shot." Susan was very excited about baking especially to make things better between James and Terry. "It is okay I know I am easy target and it was fun." She started to look through the cupboards for the good chocolate. "Can you add two eggs please and then mix." Susan grinned as she found the chocolate.

"Oh work is great, I might get promoted. I am looking forward to it." Susan turned back to him. "Heard about that agent man, that is very exciting what is going on there?" Susan was genuinely interested in knowing.

Careful not to get the shells in the mix, Terry did as Susan asked, humming happily. This was easy. How in the world did he keep screwing this up? Seriously! It was a piece of cake. Heh, that was funny.

"Well, I meet with him next week. He said it was best to talk at his place before we actually signed contracts and stuff. Make sure I want to work with him." Terry grinned, stirring the batter. "Congratulations on your upcoming promotion!"

She came back over to look at what Terry had done and was quite pleased no egg shells in the mix. Susan passed him a spoon so he could stir it together. She was happy to hear about the music contract that could happen for Terry it was great news and something she thought Terry deserved. "I am so excited for you Terry." Susan started to break up the chunks of chocolate so that they could mix it into the batter. "So what kind of frosting do you want for the cup cakes?"

"Blue frosting." The blue was easier to find if he were to 'accidentally' smash a cupcake in his boyfriend's face. Or hair. Terry chuckled, imagining James freaking out because of icing in his hair. He continued humming as he stirred the mix.

"You don't think this is going to be too sweet, do you?"

"Blue frosting it is." Susan nodded her head and turned around to get the blue colouring before turning back to Terry. "No I don't think so, cause I didn't use overly sweet chocolate." Susan smiled at him she went back to getting the frosting ingredients together. "But no I don't because I didn't use a lot of sugar cause we were using more chocolate so it will all be fine. They should be quite tasty. If you want we can try one when it is done to see and if they are we can make some more." Susan wanted to make sure this was perfect.

"That sounds great!" Terry grinned, playing with the mix. He looked excitedly at the blue colouring, wanting to play with the frosting. It took a lot to remind himself that he could play with the frosting later. With James.

"Right, not that sweet. What should I do now?"

She was getting out another bowl to make the frosting with and turned her attention back to Terry. "I am going to make enough for you take home as well just in case if the cupcakes get messed up in the travel." Susan was sure Terry could find a use for the frosting if he didn't need it which was also the point as well. She started putting the ingredients into the bowl for the frosting she turned back to Terry. "How blue do you want this?" As she waited for his answer she went and got her muffin baking tray and some cupcake cups. "Line the tray with these and put mix in there till they are full." Susan waved the star patterned cupcake liners around before putting them down for Terry to use.

"Ooooh, stars!" Terry smiled, taking the patterns from her. He started to do as she said, putting the liner in before getting the mix. A couple of them were splotchy, overbrimming the mix, but oh well. He was sure James would love them anyways. "Really blue. Not a dark blue, but more of a deep azure."

Baking didn't seem to hard. Then again, as long as he had adult supervision it was okay. "I don't see how you can do this all the time."

Susan thought Terry would like the stars. She went back to her frosting making the colour something acceptable. She took a few mixes of it to get it to the right shade she wanted. This looked pretty good and rather tasty. Susan looked up at him and shrugged her shoulders. "I find it relaxing, plus the outcome is nice and I like sharing it." Susan smiled weakly as she showed him the bowl. "That look good?" She asked as she looked to the oven. "So when you are done toss it in the oven and set the timer."
