Christina was still weirded out by the fact that the baby had shown up in the apartment at the same time as her -- that didn't count as having showed up with her, did it? Because Kate wasn't hers, she was Dylan's. Thankfully Dylan was actually rooming with her or that could've gotten incredibly awkward. Well, not so much for Christina because she rarely did awkward. Truth and pushing boundaries, yes. Awkward, not so much. But... still. Possibly.
She'd also taken to the little girl pretty quickly. Emma wasn't there, which meant Christina was officially the closest thing to a mother figure in her life now. She was privately of the opinion that it meant Kate was a little on the screwed side, but she'd still gotten pretty quickly protective of her nonetheless. It was hard not to be, when she was the one who'd been there upon the baby's arrival. And Kate's father was there, so... it'd balance out a little, right? Maybe? Maybe.
Kate had just gone down for a nap, which meant Christina had just quietly crept out of the room. She wasn't good with babies, but she knew better than to be noisy around one who was sleeping. You didn't have to be an Erudite to know that one. It was pretty much just filed under "no freakin' duh" in the universe. Or should've been. She knew a few people who were a little too dumb to get it.
"Oh, hey," she said as she turned and promptly bumped into Dylan. "Tiny thing just fell asleep."
She already had half a dozen nicknames for Kate; that was just the least ridiculous.
