She stared at the man as he tore apart the corpse of her lover. It reminded her of something long ago...something nearly forgotten. She a hand close to her chest as she watched him with what could only be described as disbelief. She watched him fall to his knees as if driven by a terrible weight and shifted to slowly rise. When he flung the now toothless skull of her lover at her she caught it deftly in one hand with the same speed of a striking viper. There was no frown to her full lips now and her brows were furrowed slightly as she watched him bellow at her.
“WHY COULDN’T CHA’ JUST DO WHAT YOU WERE FUCKIN’ TOLD!? HUH?! WHY DID’JA HAVE TA’ BE SOMETHIN’ ‘SPECIAL’ ‘STEAD ‘A NORMAL!?”
She let the silence weigh on him, simply watching as she stood near. After a moment she dropped Tyr’s skull with a wet thud, her hand now red with ichor. “It is the Tesseract.” She sighed. “It opens doors...even those to memory. My father learned this and is now quite shattered and irrevocably mad from his time with the Tesseract. If it has chosen you it has done so for the purpose of opening doors.”
She tipped her horned head, letting the raven black hair fall over her shoulders in a wave as it covered the right side of her face. “It is helping you remember…helping you feel. I was the one to piece my father together after the Tesseract opened his mind like a rotten walnut...and even so...not all of the pieces of Loki have returned to him.” She waved a hand toward the magpie, who shuddered, ducking down into its feathers. “You walk with a shred of Loki’s misery on your shoulder.” She flicked blood from her fingers with a sigh.
“I know this hurts.” she said quietly, as if lost in thought while looking down at her bloodied hand. “The Tesseract tears through ages of defenses to open the doors of the mind. I cannot stop what the Tesseract will do to you...but I can offer some safety and solace. For no other reason than that you are one who would claim my father as their own.”
