Sabretooth ran swiftly into the spacious corridor, but his heavy footsteps halted came to a halt once he spotted the 5-man militia standing their ground up ahead: one carried a sword, the second held an axe, and the third pointed a spear; two guards at the rear aimed arrows at him. The feral growled and crouched lower to the ground – he planned to dive out of the projectile’s path - but a grip of talons somehow swayed Sabretooth to stay still.
Surprise widened his eyes as he bore witness; the magpie’s magical shield made the arrows explode like firecrackers made of wood upon contact, which prompted the Asgardians to close the gap and encircle the murderer. The archers rapidly reached for additional arrows; nock, drawing and releasing at will. The wood and steel splintered and sprayed away; so much so, one of the guards demanded they cease fire so they could swarm in and not fall victim to the back-draft of debris.
It took only seconds for them to close the gap, but that was more than long enough for Creed to stand upright and appear indifferent against the onslaught. The magpie protected him, and now it needed him to ponder his precept. Amber eyes stopped focusing on the guards – they reminded him too much of the king he couldn’t kill – and instead searched for familiar faces that were not in this realm:
The memory of a pink skinned, pink haired girl flashed before him.
She was joined by a smiling, indigo skinned German gymnast, who didn’t hesitate to curl his arm around her waist, nor set his three fingered hand against her hip.
And a second cyan-tinted man emerged. Bigger than them both; ice-cold hands settled atop blue and pink shoulders protectively. No harmful cold was brought to the two he touched, and that prompted him to flaunt a fanged smile.
These three transcended far beyond allies. Creed’s heart skipped a beat; not even ‘caring’ for them seemed adequate enough to describe how…special these powerful people were to him. They were so much more now.
“ …That’s my family!” The thought left him wide-eyed. “ I-I’ve….I gotta save ‘em! “
