"Are you sure Heimdall isn't the trickster god? Because he seems to be trying to steal your spot, Loki," Kurt said, one eyebrow raised. The horse was right, if that had been the contract, well, Heimdall had kept to it. "Still, Clarice has protection from us even if she had none with the bargain."
"Indeed. If he didn't adhere to any contract he made with you, then his kidnapping of one of my students is nothing else but a criminal act." Although Ororo would have seen it as this in any circumstance. Clarice was not a property to be handed around. "I suppose he thinks he can do as he pleases because we are only mortals."
However, Loki's mention of Thor made Ororo straighten up. Another god, potentially on the warpath, couldn't simply be left to prance around in the X-Mansion. Kurt and her exchanged a long look.
"If we're being honest, whether it's one or two of us, we're not winning against Odin in a fight," Kurt said. "That's one thing were we'll sneak or talk our way out of. If one of us has to stay here, so be it."
"You're stealthier," Ororo said, although the idea of letting Kurt go up to the gods alone obviously displeased her. However, she could not risk leaving the school undefended when such a great force like Thor was coming their way with unclear intentions. On top of that, she realised that it would be difficult for Kurt to wait here - Victor and Clarice seemed to have gained more importance for him than just in their roles as tentative ally and pupil.
"And you should show Thor that we already have a thunder goddess down here," Kurt repled with a soft smile.
"The Thor I knew was reasonable," Storm said. "Perhaps I can make him listen and then join you in the realm of the gods with him. If he is not willing to talk," she raised her eyes to the sky, "there will be a thunderstorm worthy of the history books." Avoiding the fight would be ideal, but she would lie if she said she had never thought of matching her force against that of Thor.
