"Indeed, Victor was excited by the opportunity of meeting his enemy. As you and I know, Creed has chosen Odin as the object of his Hunt." Loki said, his face still tight with frustration. "Neither of us counted on Heimdall taking Clarice as well... I swore to protect her, and I mean to do just that."
Sleipnir looked over at Ororo, crimson eyes raising to meet hers once again. "I envy your optimism, fair goddess." He said in a low rumble, then looked away. "Heimdall will not interfere. A part of the bargain was that he would leave my father be. Although he has mislead us, the Guardian has kept to the letter of his word."
At that, Loki's head whipped around toward him in surprise and disbelief. "What do you mean? None of this was part of the bargain!"
Sleipnir shook his head. "Heimdall offered to exchange your ally in return for removing my bonds. I am unchained and he did indeed take your ally. If one examines the Watcher's words and actions he has fulfilled the bargain, to its letter. What vexes you now is that the Watcher also acted outside the bargain and omitted certain details. He did not inform you that he would take Clarice, nor that my service to my Master was not yet over." He sighed, his head drooping slightly once again. "I have no cause to believe that Heimdall continues to watch you. You are beneath his notice."
At that Loki bristled but remained silent. All of the stallions observations seemed valid. Once more reminded him that his son was more than a steed...he was a seasoned warrior and an experienced tactician. All the same, Heimdall's omissions and the subsequent consequences of those omissions were unforgivable in the Trickster's eyes. "There is more." Loki growled. "I sensed Thor a moment ago...far too close for my comfort. I would prefer to be gone by the time Odin's war-dog arrives."
