She'd been in the middle of prepping an analysis of a specimen they had found washed up from the bay. The last thing that they wanted was for anything to come up from the water and attack. Didn't they have enough issues already? Still... it hadn't stopped her from making Godzilla jokes... At least until the comm went off in her office.
Martha had been about to answer when she paused, letting out a breath. Her hand went to her stomach. "You're going to be a bloody football player..." she was speaking to the baby, it was kicking. It was only then that she could respond. "It's about bloody time," there was a laugh to her voice. "Maybe we can get him to stick around for a while this time. On my way up. Don't let him get away!"
They really needed to talk to him! ~~~~
Up on the Plass, the landing was smooth. Better than the last time he'd been here, that was certain. There was something in the air that made him a bit uneasy. Something... that felt slightly out of place. But that was Cardiff. Jack's home. That impossible man - in the literal sense.
Parking the TARDIS, the Doctor opened her up. "Might as well recharge while we're here," he said to his ship. "I know you're eager to see them, maybe this time they'll come with again, eh?" He just hoped that none of this was end of the world stuff. At least right now.
The Doctor grabbed his coat, draping it over his arm as he pulled the door open. It was a beautiful day. And not a spaceship - other than his - in sight. Everything looked mostly the same. "Now, if I were an undying man, where would I make my entrance?" He looked around. He couldn't imagine it would be very long.
