She said nothing to him. She just let him leave. She would have hit him if he stayed any longer. Her ladies were able to slightly cool her -- they kept her busy at least.
She had taken a seat after Charles came in, slightly nodding her head in reply to his bowing to her. A few grapes were plucked from their vine and tossed into her mouth before her quick-witted retort was shot back at him. "You can read, Your Grace, I'm astounded," she was the true definition of an unhappy woman. Even her ladies cringed at her rude answer -- she could barely stand it, she turned into such a bitter person because of this. "I'm sure they're good if Her Majesty sent them," she tried her best to ease what she said by continuing. "Cards will do, Charles."
