Where the hell am I???
Who: John Kennex & Jake
Where: Room of Rings, Crossroads --> Calderville
When: Week 1 Day 2, Morning
What: John arriving
Status: COMPLETE!!!

John, had his coffee cup in his hand and was looking at his phone as he pushed the door to Rudy's lab open, calling out as he entered.

"C'mon Dorian! Gotta go, we've gotta call Dorian. Kiss Rudy goo.... what the hell?"

He stopped mid-word, mid-step, and looked up, his phone having completely changed as he looked at it in his hand, to something a lot larger and completely different things on the screen. He almost dropped his coffee cup when he saw that in front of him, instead of Rudy's cybernetics lab was a counter, a wall, and a blue giant, crouched down looking at something in his hand. His coffee cup then did hit the floor as he quickly drew his gun.

"Who the fuck are you and where are Rudy and Dorian?!"

John thought for a moment, the prospect of flying with Jake on his Banshee one that wasn't quite so beyond the realms of possibilities, but just not right how.

But the mention of the 'trip' through the ring and the prospect of trying that won out. Plus he was more interested in the town, and he might find some answers to the myriad of questions he had. Plus again, the idea of sand was one John didn't feel like experiencing, especially at the moment.

"The ring, and town it is," he said, glancing at the screen then at Jake. "I uh, just look at the picture and the ring opens a doorway?

"Yeah. Well, you gotta stand in the circle first, man, but that's how it works, yeah. Go on, try it. I'd go through with you, but Banshee'd freak out if I vanished on him, and nobody wants a freaking-out Ikran," he explained with a smile, then gestured towards the circle on the floor.

"Oh, hey, wait, I want to see something!" he blurted out, and then quickly ran round so that he was able to see the back of the center ring. "Okay, now try it. I want to see the back of this."

John didn't want to even imagine a freaked out ikran, the one outside was enough for him to handle right now, especially if that was a calm one. He walked across till he was standing in the ring marked out on the floor, looking all around him at the room, then at Jake, where he stood on the other side of the large upright ring.

"Okay."

With a final glance at the screen in his hand John forced his mind to focus on it, his detective eye starting to pick out things about it, and he realised the light in the room was changing. He looked back up at the ring and saw a shimmering, starting at the edges, that quickly crept in toward the centre and before his eyes the image he'd been staring at on the phone formed in the ring.

"Holy crap!" he muttered, staring at it and walking toward it. "Can you see this?" he called out, Jake having completely disappeared, the image solid and from what he could see... real.

	"I just see a shitload of water. Going... up. Huh. Freaky," Jake replied, resisting the urge to poke the thing for once, before moving back round the rings and looking at the image in the ring. Shoving the new phone in his pocket John straightened his shoulders and looked from the ten foot tall blue guy, to the ring, then back again. "Well, here goes, hopefully see you on the other side sometime," he said to Jake, his left hand reaching to his right wrist and fiddling with the beads there for a brief moment. He inhaled, let it out slowly, and walked toward the image, pulling his chin down to his chest as he stepped through, almost as if he was going to walk through a waterfall.

And before he knew it he was standing in the middle of what could only be described as a town square, the street stretching away in front of him, buildings either side, and a few trees placed in the grassy, well-manicured square.

He spun and looked behind him, expecting to see Jake, but frowning when there was nothing there, just a circle he was standing on.

"Ooookay, now that was... different!"

Given there was nothing to look at there he figured it was time to start checking out the place, and if nothing else find something to eat and a place to sleep.
