Sharon hesitated in answering his question, just for a moment, as she stepped into the apartment he shared with Dimitri and Alicia. Making a house call wasn't something she would have have done for a lot of people. Most, she would have just called to her office. Dean was different, though. He was someone she considered to be a friend. On top of that, Jo had been her roommate. That made this case personal.
"It took her less than a minute to glance around the apartment before her gaze landed back on Dean again. "I'm sorry, Dean. We didn't find anything. Even with magic... she's not anywhere we could trace." She couldn't say for certain that Jo had returned home, but that was the implication. That was the assumption they made in cases like these. It was possible that something else was going on, too, but without any other disappearances, it was unlikely. Most probably, the portal had just sent her back. Likely the the exact point she'd left from, which meant she'd gone back to die. It didn't take a rocket science to know how hard Dean would take that.
