WHO: Open to anyone!
WHERE: Local market, England
WHEN: Early evening

It had been a long day, a terribly long day, and all Lucas wanted to do was go home and take a hot bath. However there would be no bath and there would be no home for at least a few hours. He was stuck at the market in the town and it was raining. He'd be lucky to get a carriage in this kind of weather; he'd hate to be the driver of a carriage in this kind of weather.

It was not the kind of rain that made things cool, just rain of a warm summer day. Ugh, he hated hot rain. Without an agenda of any sort and not having a clue as to when his driver would return, Lucas huddled underneath the tent of a fruit stand... its owner fast asleep in the chair.

Demetri moved along the street as the rain kept coming down. Luckily it wasn't too far from his home but it was enough and his coat was already starting to get more than just damp. He passed through the market and moved so he wouldn't run into one of the stands, and instead bumped into someone else. He turned quickly as he steadied himself.

"Oh I do apologise." He looked at the other man and then smiled. "Lucas?"

Up until then he had been quiet towards plenty of folks and he was unsure why. Usually Lucas was a chatterbox, but lately he had nothing to chatter about. Wrapping his arms around himself, he watched the rain fall... then suddenly was run into. Before he had time to even say anything, he heard his brother's voice and suddenly his mood brightened.

"Demetri!" Lucas grinned. "What's the matter - afraid you're going to melt?"

Demetri laughed. "Normally I wouldn't think so but in this heat and rain, I'm not so sure. What about you? Did you plan on a nice wet stroke through the streets," he said with a grin. It had been some time since he'd seen his little brother and Demetri was happy to have run into him.

"Oh, no, I was just on my way home. Did not really feel like walking in this rain," Lucas looked behind him, staring at the sleeping merchant. Wrinkling his nose, he turned back to his brother. "Although it seems some people enjoy the rain more than others. Perhaps a little too much."

"No I can't blame you. It is not exactly great weather to be outside." Demetri glanced back at the merchant as well and then back to Lucas. "I do believe you're right. I can't say that I am one of them either." He moved to get more under the cover of the booth. "The townhouse isn't too far away. Do you want to come and at least wait out the weather? It is at least much drier there."

(Apologies for the delay, love!)

"I imagine it'd be more comforting, wouldn't it? The dryness of your townhouse in comparison to..." He held out his hand, which was greeted immediately with sheets of rain. "This."

Demetri grinned and nodded and flagged the nearest landau and leading his brother inside. "I think it shall, yes. Anything would be better than this weather." He gave his address and then settled in for the relatively short ride.

Since the absolutely awful affair with the thief Patience had been careful about shopping, sending her maids rather than going herself, and it was beastly that on the day she chose to venture out it would rain like this.

Covering her head with her shawl she ran for cover underneath the nearest stall and was quite delighted to find herself in the company of an old family friend.
"Lucas!" She said, lowering her shawl back to her shoulders, and shivering a little. "I wouldn't have expected to see you here. I didn't know you were in town. How are you? And your painting?"

"Look at you!" He said with a laugh. "Shivering something terrible. What are you doing out here in such horrible weather?" Then he noted just how he must have looked and this thought made him chuckle. "Then again, what am I doing out in this weather?"

He was surprised to hear speak of his art. Word must have spread around town! "It's so good to see you! It's doing great, thanks. I think I'm finally tapping into artistic side and I could not be any happier. What about you - what have you been up to?"

It's fine!

"Shoping!" Patience said, running a hand through her damp hair. "I wasn't expecting it to rain so badly." She glanced at Lucas, giving him a smile. "Yes, what are you doing out?"

"Your sister mentioned your painting last time she visited." Patience said by way of explanation. "I wouldn't mind seeing some of it. Maybe you can come for tea one day? Charles might read some of his poetry. I haven't been up to much. Helping daddy with his parties mostly." She thought about telling him about the theif, but there would be time for that later. Why reveal all the interesting things that had happened to you straight away?
