Subject: Just an everyday part of business.
Where: The Hoof and Hound tavern, Hackney.
Who: Davey MacCulloch
Warnings: TBA
Open to: Ian Gray, anyone interested in a pint or a game of cards.
The tavern was about as busy as could be expected at this time of day. A couple of regulars who'd been in all day, various bits of family wandering around as they prepared for the evening's inevitable rush and his own card game in the back corner. The noise level was good enough that the conversation couldn't be overheard, not that it would be in this place, and from where he sat Davey could see the entire floor. No-one was going to get in or out of this place without being seen, which was what he was after.
The card game itself wasn't anything particularly interesting, just five-card loo, but he was a couple of farthings up and it did keep him occupied while he waited on whatever orders or visitors might crop up. He threw in his stake as the next game started, only half-heartedly keeping up, and waited.
