Evander looked at him and nodded. "I didn't mean to imply you did or would. But you didn't know me, didn't have a reason to not say anything. I guess I'm just used to everyone doing what they have to, to survive and not be punished."
He walked the short distance to the bed and sat slowly on the edge near the foot board. "I guess, I mean Harry said I could. I've never worked before though. For as long as I can remember, I just did what I was told. I was taught what to do and it was my responsibility to ensure all who came to me were not disappointed," he said softly.
"You're lucky to have Harry. He seems to care about you all very much."
