"Well, Meredith," He said, leaning forward to shake the young man's hand, and then settling himself back down into his seat, picking up his pen and writing down the man's name, before looking back up. "Your résumé said you had just finished your degree at Cambridge. I'm an Oxford man myself. What did you study?" The boy, surprisingly comely and still youthful looking, more so than his years, had done a history of some form. But to find his specialty was not the purpose of his questioning. He wanted to see how enthusiastic the boy was for his subject, and how he could transfer that enthusiasm to others.
