Jimmy paced outside of the Avery. He wanted to go in and continue his task his father had set for him, but he was conflicted. Something about Ann was making him mixing work and pleasure and it was getting bad. He had never done this before - to this extent anyway. His emotions were getting the better of him. No, he wasn't falling for her.
Taking a deep breath, smoothing his jacket and taking another look at himself in a darkened window, he decided he looked attractive enough and he entered the tavern slowly, scanning the occupants. All looked drunk and about ready to pass out as they finished up their last call and he spotted Ann behind the bar. A smile that he couldn't stiffle spread across his face as he still stood near the entrance, not wanting to make a big entrance as it would be rude to disturb the other occupants.
