Yes, it was a pity they had met so soon afterward and Katherine was already engaged. Georgina could hardly call off the engagement, it would be obvious social-climbing on her part and once Katherine had accepted it would seem very undecided of her to change her mind this far along. Besides, Augustus had never hinted about wanting a wife.
