Léon had not had the time to eat his lunch in the dining room, and so had the servants bring his own meal into his study. And now the dispatches and the reports and the warrants were all finished, and he emerged, cleaning his hands on a handkerchief and heading towards the dining room to find the wine decanter.
"Good afternoon, Major." He said to the redcoat, with a polite nod. Truthfully, he disliked having English soldiery in his Embassy. But it had been an agreement between his government and that of the English that no Republic soldiers were to be present in the English capital, even if their stationing was only for decorative purposes.
"Enjoying your dinner, I hope?" He asked, finding himself a glass and picking up the decanter of wine.
