Ever since his appointment as liaison, Christopher had been endeavoring to expand his rudimentary knowledge of French. So far, he could hold relatively simple conversations, but he was improving. In order to further this goal, he typically took lunch at the Embassy whenever the opportunity presented itself. Today was one of those days. The officer was cheerfully enjoying some cold chicken and a bit of wine in the dining room. Alone, true, but he hoped that someone would deign to speak with him. After all, how else was he to improve his French?
