this is backdated a little, to when Evonne was still in England
She rarely ever wore one nowadays. When she was home, she didn't bother, because there was no one around for her to look presentable for. When she went out - she wasn't female. It was strange to dress up like a proper woman again.
Although in reality it hadn't been that long, it felt like ages since she'd been out in public as herself. She'd been spending more and more time as Yves recently that she often got the two confused. She constantly had to remind herself to check her posture, or the way she crossed her legs when she sat, or the way she held her hands, or the words she used to address other people. It was all getting very confusing. She found herself thinking more like a man, speaking in a gruffer, more masculine tone...even, sometimes, looking at other women the way a man would...
But she had spent the whole morning becoming herself again. She had put the finishing touches on her dress, combed her hair out and styled it in the latest fashion, rouged her cheeks and lips, and practiced sitting up straight and with proper posture.
As she walked toward the embassy, she lost herself in thought. It had been so long since she'd seen her little brother. She hoped he wouldn't look any different. With recent events, there was no telling how he'd changed. He was smart, suggesting their meeting take place at the embassy. It was safest, that was true. She was worried, however, of the implications it had - maybe he didn't want her seeing the places he frequented, or where he worked, or who he was with? It worried her a little. She had to remind herself that Lucien was an adult now. He was certainly able to take care of himself, and he was smart enough to know how to avoid trouble.
Evonne stopped in front of the building which housed the French embassy. No doubt the ambassador was in turmoil right now, dealing with all the trouble the revolution was causing. She could only hope that what she and her brothers were doing was helping to cease the violence and move towards a better France.
Evonne folded her gloved hands at her waist as she waited. Her eyes were restless as she waited patiently for her brother's arrival.
