"Are you worried about anyone seeing?" Nell asked as another of the boys, still in his stage clothes and make-up, eased past them. Now that Harry was gone the hallway would soon be filled with the clients of the boys who lived there. Privacy could only last so long in a brothel. "Don't worry. Everyone here is in the same boat. If they told they'd be giving away their own secret, but..."
He took Léon by the hand, familiar and gentle in the gesture and led him down the hallway and round the corner to his own room. "It isn't much, but it is more than enough for private conversation."
The room was small, large enough to house a dressing table with a cracked glass mirror, an old wardrobe with clothes throw hurriedly over its open doors and a bed, still messy from before the show when Harry had helped him get ready.
