Christopher had no idea what Thérèse felt for him nor did he realy think about it; in truth he was quite taken with her also, it was not every day that he met a clumsy beauty who had a wit and air about her that was rare in many women. True, the clumsy thing was perhaps a hindrance rather than an asset or quality, but it certainly humanised her where many others had no redeeming qualities about them.
"Thérèse... please stop apologising there is nothing to be sorry for. It is not as if you hurt my lake," he chuckled, hoping he was reassuring her. He sat beside her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. He attempted to ignore the pleasant feel of her form beneath his fingers. "You are tired and still not settled... shaken from the water.."
