Dearest Abigail,
I wanted to tell you straight away that I will be in London for the summer's duration. Father has given me the privilege of managing his townhouse and I could not be more pleased.
There is a party that I must plan to host myself, which is a bit more worrisome than taking care of the house. Would you mind terribly in giving me your advice on throwing parties? I always feel that young ladies are more in tune with the ins and outs of social gatherings, and I trust your judgements more than I would my own. I would be lying if I told you that I have the slightest idea of how to prepare a successful party outside of arranging for musical entertainment and creating a guest list.
I cannot wait until we may spend time with one another again. I am certain that I will have many things to tell you which I would not dare write here. And I will certainly have more poetry to show you, if you should be interested. Above all else I hope this letter finds you and your family well.
Yours,
Charles
