Ella frowned. Mr. Brinsley must have been a passionate man himself, as he was so moved by her sister's tale of woe! She stroked his arm gently and leaned her cheek against his arm again, closing her eyes.
"Dear Robert is gone... there is no bring him back from death. I do not believe in ghost stories, Mr. Brinsley. And... as much as I dislike Daphne's current taste in men, I cannot say I blame her for not waiting for a dead man," Ella said in a kind voice. She hated what had happened to Daphne and Robert.
