Lysander was pulled aside several times and asked who the young woman with him was and had been complimented on his choice of date. Lysander thought it odd that Amandine wasn't speaking so much, recalling that she was never shy by what he had seen. Deducing that her husband really had sucked the lively spirit out of her, Lysander made it his duty to bring it back.
The whole evening, he had her arm linked with his whenever he could and gave her smiles when he felt her eyes on him.
