Harry listened, frown deepening further as she went on, before he stood up and went behind his desk, pulling out a pen and sheet of paper, beginning to write carefully and quickly. If Mary thought he was going to let her back there, she had another thin' coming! He wasn't going to let her be treated like that, and he wasn't going to let her stay at the house a moment longer.
"Well, you ain't going back there." Harry replied when she had finished, continuing to write, "You'll come stay with me for a while, and I'll fix you up with something. You can manage that, can't you? You can see my house- you'll like it." He adds, looking up at her with a smile.
