Mary rolled her eyes and gave him a cheeky grin. "I'm always unreasonable. 'Specially if you go askin Lord Stanley's opinion." Seeing Harry's reaction to that name, she had to laugh again. "What do you suppose I've been doing to be so near getting thrown from the house by her Ladyship?" She paused a beat then shook her head. "Not a thing, sir. I've been nursemaid there- but a while back Lord Stanley came home for once and he hasn't let me be since. I spend more time keeping away from him than I do minding the children."
She wrinkled her nose. "It's past bearing, is what it is. And her Ladyship's got to chuck me out, sooner or later. For my good as much as hers, really."
