Looking after one of the maids, Lysander smiled and shrugged. "I hadn't noticed, but my younger brother did all the hiring. I had no hand in it," he assured her and then sat back and listened to her explination. His brow furrowed with concern for her and he was quiet for a few moments after she finished, pondering what he should say next.
"Well, if he really does believe that it is your fault that there was a Revolution, either he needs to be slapped back to his right mind, or you are one powerful woman!" he tried to joke and smiled a little. Sighing, he leaned forward, reaching out to touch her hand. "You shouldn't have to go through this, Amandine. You're better than that."
