Robert was having an absolutely splendid time in Paris. He had absolutely nothing to do that he didn't want to do, he'd bought a very nice blue coat that he thought made him look rather dashing (he was wearing it now), and he kept meeting such lovely people. He was extremely grateful for the letter of introduction his parents had given him for Monsieur Necker, one of the most reknowned Swiss bankers there was. Robert had cash in hand, plenty of company, and-

An extremely pretty girl walked by, with absolutely gorgeous dark hair and a figure that made lesser men bite their knuckles in longing. There wasn't anything particularly striking about her, aside from her beautiful complexion, but Robert couldn't look away.
Hm, time to make a new acquaintance! Robert stuck his hands in the shallow pockets of his culottes and feigned distraction by whistling 'Yankee Doodle' and staring up at the sky. Just as he had planned, he bumped into her.
"Oh, pardonnez-moi Mademoiselle!" Robert said, in his accented French. "Je regrette mille fois."
