Christopher thought it sweet for her to be so considerate to her husband. On e of his deepest regrets was that he hadn't been able to send his own bouquet of flowers to his Helene's grave to honour her memory; but then he doubted she had a grave at all.
Angry at the thought Christopher's eyes darkened but he hid them as he lead Thérèse to the carriage. He didn't want her to become concerned about him. "There is a florist not far from the parish. I am sure they would be happy to provide you with a very charming posey."
