Christopher was patient while the lady shopped for dresses. Despite the sad occasion it was for Thérèse seemed to be handling it rather well but the Lord was still to hand in case she wished to make a hasty exit or step to the side for a moment if emotion overcame her. He had never been shopping with a lady before but surprisingly it wasn't as tiresome as he had thought. Quite the opposite; it was interesting how they chose materials, how they fit it to the figure - and Thérèse had quite a figure.
Christopher tore his eyes away and simply sat quietly on the chair looking around the shop. It was only until she requested his attention that he gave it to her, otherwise not wanting to pry.
"You look wonderful considering the reason you wear it," he told her kindly, but it was the truth. She did seem haunting but in a pretty way.
