Antoine had rather been enjoying the day. It was nice to simply allow himself to ride without worrying about anything. Back at home - the home that they'd lived in before his mother had died - he'd ridden nearly everyday. And ever since he'd received the invitation from Lord Hurst, Antoine had been looking forward to this weekend more than any other as far back as he could remember.
Not only was he able to further the goal that he'd placed for his family - he had introduced Aime to the Duke and they'd settled in. The Duke seemed to like Aime well enough which was, indeed, something he enjoyed knowing. A small part of him hated that he was doing this to his brother, but he couldn't help that his brother seemed to catch the attention of the important men in town. He kept telling himself that his brother was doing something to help the family. Didn't always keep his conscience quiet, but it worked enough to keep him from going insane.
As the shoot was starting he sadly got off of the horse that Lord Hurst had alloted for his use and smiled at the milling crowd. Taking the gun that the groom handed him, he nodded and made to follow everyone. He would have preferred to stay on the horse, but perhaps he'd be able to ride again later.
