Katherine broke into a wide grin when she realized that she had indeed caught Daphne's attention with her rather childish hand-waving. She saw the other woman begin to hurry towards her, and Katherine met her half way, embracing Daphne soundly as the sister that she was to her. It had been many months since they'd seen one another and, though Katherine was loathe to admit it to anyone else, there was a great deal to discuss with her dearest friend.
Pulling away, Katherine looked into Daphne's face, in which some strange anger was still apparent. Touching her shoulder she said, "Oh Daphne, I have missed you, but you do not seem yourself!" She lowered her voice before adding, "Have the men been children about your far superior shooting skills?" Katherine winked at her, recalling how Daphne had always been a good shoot, even when they played harmless pretend shooting games as children.
