Fritz squinted his eyes at the man for a moment, watching him carefully, trying to decipher what the constable's goal was in speaking with him.
"She is in Newcastle as we speak, actually." He answered smoothly with a dry smile. "Until she regains the rosy-cheeked beauty that I so miss." He almost cast a dramatic glance off into the distance but stopped himself. This man would see through it, he garnered. "I am only nearby because I am her chaperone. Unfortunately I would not go near Newcastle. I find my pleasures more obtainable in the city."
When Fritz heard the word constable, he began to calculate. "I am not a citizen of this country," He answered in a low voice, leaning in ever so slightly, "But perhaps you could still protect me in a certain...specific...way if I were to offer something in return?"
