Léon smiled at her. He had into threatened her at all, but her defensiveness was further proof in his eyes. "Madamosielle, I would not keep you from any part of the Embassy, as it is your home for the moment. I would, however, wonder if you would extend me that same courtesy as I have extended to you. Would you be so kind as to unlock all your cupboards and draws and allow me to look through your belongings? I have a spare half hour now in which to indulge my curiosity." He asked, completely serious as he stepped into the room.
"I would like to read all your letters, your diary perhaps? Have you, maybe, a personal prayer book or bible, given to you by a friend that I might flick through? Your clothes I will scatter on the floor, I shall look beneath your mattress and under loose floorboards." He paused, a kind, generous, and deeply sarcastic smile appearing on his face, "But if you desire it, mademoiselle, to make the imposition more bearable, I shall be searching for my hat."
