"Sabana? I do believe my father mentioned her. He does love the opera," Charles said. He was always impressed by people who were gifted with singing talent. Then Charles set about identifying the guests he was familiar with.
"That young woman is my dear friend Abigail Mountford-Miles." He gestured towards her with his free hand. "She is next to her brother, Lord Mountford-Miles. And..." His eyes scanned the little group until he found the other remaining Mountford-Miles sibling, he knew he had spotted her when he'd first joined everyone. "...oh there she is. There is their sister Edith. I see Doctor Perkins-" Charles nodded towards the man. "-has brought a lovely guest whom I am not familiar with. The lovely redhead over there, I believe that's my old friend Adelaide. I have not seen her since we were children! I'm not sure I could mistake her for anyone else, though something does seem different about her."
He made a mental note to speak with Adelaide at some point during the gathering. He had heard that her life had not been the happiest, but from what he could tell she seemed happy to be visiting Bailston Abbey.
