He smiles at her, "I was hoping you would agree." He grins, "Now, I suppose we must give up our conversation for a moment or two, if we are to ride to the Meadows and enjoy our hunt?" He says, leading her towards the group, the horses also being led over.
"Ah, my dear, that is why you need a garden, with a strong, high wall. Or, like us, you need more acres than a dog can run through." He explains, smiling, "But tonight, or tomorrow before breakfast, you shall meet our puppies. It is hard to imagine such creatures begin life so small."
"I think he remembers, my dear Adelaide." He says, wondering where his son is. He should have been here to welcome the guests, but no doubt he was off with that note-book of his again. "I am sure he is seeing to it that all the puddles are being covered over. No doubt he will join us shortly."
