Adelaide smiled at the man. He had changed very little in her opinion, however she had most likely changed in his. She was no longer a little girl chasing the dogs around. "Lord Hurst!" she said happily, giving a small curtsy as her nurse disappeared from her side, leaving the young widow to do as she pleased. "Nearly six years," she admitted gently, "Not since before my first husband." She looked around at her surroundings and smiled a little more, even though her eyes were lifeless as usual. "It is wonderful to be here again, I find life in the city to be so dreary." Her eyes fell on the pack of dogs gathered across the way and the emptiness in her eyes was replaced with excitement. "Do not worry, my father made me promise not to attempt to tie ribbon into the hair again," she said gently, a light blush coming to her cheeks at the memories of spending time as a young girl at the Abbey.
