The manor smelled of freash linens and beautiful white roses met your eyes at every corner. It was near nightfall, and Jeanne-Colette had the servants place candles at each entry step to secure the safety of her brother. Tea was brewing in the kitchens and Jeanne was dressed in one of her finest summer gowns. Peering out the window, anxious for the arrival of a carriage, she waited- fingers showing every sign of anxiety. They drummed against the fine wooden window sill, and her heart thumped impatiently in her chest.
Dressed in robes of superior green silk, she leaned her head against the wall, her lengthy blonde hair dulling harshness of the wood. As a servant entered the room, she noticed the arrival of a carriage, and was confirmed by the servant of the appearence of her brother. "Excellent," she exclaimed, jumping to her feet, "Show him in, please!"
