His compliments caused the usually harsh woman to blush as she looked down to the dogs again, only to hide her face from him. "You flatter me," Edith said with a smile as she glanced back up.
"I will certainly keep you in mind should I ever want one," she said gently. Perhaps she did want one then, but she had a feeling she would not want one in the morning. Of course, she would never admit it but there were countless things that she had done that she ended up regretting the next morning.
"Eward is lucky to have Abigail and I looking after him," she admitted simply. "He's usually too sure of himself to take the advice of just one of us.
