Katherine swallowed, not even sure herself of why she still stood where she did. Eward was right; she had no reason to remain. She had done what she could to secure her and Miles' safety, and had paid for the courtesy. But still she stood there.
Taking a step forward towards where Eward sat on the edge of the bed, Katherine gave him a fierce look and said quietly but with great weight, "I should have known you'd talk to me just like one of your whores. Asking me why I stay when I've done my job?" She paused, asking herself the same question over and over again. Why stay? Katherine's blood was hot, and ran through her veins like fire, and for whatever reason that she was indeed still there, it made her not want to back down.
