Eward was not surprised when she turned away nor how suddenly. The atmosphere between them was completely different now and strained: he may have overstepped the mark on the last kiss but then she had been there to humour him and make sure he would consent to keep his silence, not to necessarily have any say in what how he chose to conduct the bargain. He rubbed his lips together, getting his breath back and simply stood motionless, watching her as she moved around his chambers with her arms folded. She would probably hate him now more than ever.
"Consider your secret to be safe with me," he said quietly, then moved over to the bed to sit down. Heaven knows his legs needed to rest, the nerves completely gone. "I will not tell a soul."
