Katherine swallowed down the heat rising in her chest. She almost felt bad for catching Eward off-guard, but he'd not have greeted her any more properly even had she told him of her visit. It was probably amusing to him that she was so taken aback by having to be in the same room with him while he was half-naked. But Eward could not see her falter, for the reason for her trip to his house was one of deep meaning to her, and she'd be damned if she didn't act as such.
She carefully lowered the hood from around her face, not needing to hide or mislead any longer. Taking a step further into the chamber, Katherine sighed and said as strongly as she dared, "Yes, I imagine you'd not expect me so late, if at all." Katherine paused, looking carefully at Eward. "I'm here on...something of business," she explained, her voice wavering just a bit, hoping he understood what she was referring to.
