Who: Derek and Zenia Drake What: Zenia's Detention and Brother-Sister time...or so Derek wishes When: January 15, 1997 Where: Hogwarts - Derek's office. Status: Closed, complete Rating: G for humor!
She was just sitting there in a chair, her feet propped up on the desk. Her hands were behind her head, two of the chair's legs in the air as she leaned back. Zee's smirk never left her face as she waited... and waited. And finally she won.
Her hand flew up and pointed at her brother. "I win! You blinked!" she exclaimed as he frowned at her.
It seemed that Zenia Drake was completely forgetting the reason that they were there. Not that that was unusual. It was relatively easy for her to do as it was him and not someone else sitting in what he referred to as 'the big chair' on the other side of the desk.
"Zenia, this is detention, not game time," he said flatly.
For nearly half an hour he'd been trying to get her to tell him where she had hidden his guitar. She was being impossible. Normally he wouldn't have given her detention for something so trivial... well trivial in the eyes of the rest of the staff - but this was different.
"Yeah detention! On a Saturday!" she exclaimed. "Who gives detention on a Saturday?!"
"I do." he said plainly. He looked at her again before speaking again. "You know we can sit here all night or you can just tell me and give it back," Derek said with a glare as he got up and walked around behind his sister's chair and pushing it so all four legs were back down on the floor. "Where's my guitar, Zee? Just tell me. I can always give you a month's detention. Maybe to match Hooper's?"
She turned around a face that said simply 'you wouldn't do that' - a very smug look on her countenance.
"I would..." HE wasn't even kidding now. This guitar meant a lot to him...
"Oh fine," she said finally rolling her eyes. "A Study of Mythic Charms," she finally muttered with a shake of her head.
Unfortunately for Zenia her brother had no idea what she was talking about and didn't move. Needless to say she was very amused by this.
"What's the matter, Derek? Can't figure it out?" She grinned widely taunting her big brother. These games were fun.
It was only when she glanced out of the corner of her eye at his bookshelf that he got the message.
"You shrunk it?!" he exclaimed. "You shrunk it and put it into a book?! It'll get crushed."
He stood and walked over to the shelf, looking for the title that she'd mentioned.
"Don't have a hyppogryff, Derek, just look."
The book was pulled from the shelf and opened, he didn't like this...until he saw. "You hollowed out my book?"
It was then that Zee just smiled and bolted from the room.
"ZENIA!!"
Derek's voice echoed down the hallway as she ran back to the common room laughing her head off as she went.
Derek looked down at the book, fishing his shrunken guitar out and returning it to normal size... He'd actually been hoping to have a normal conversation with his sister this time. He'd gotten another owl from their mother with photos that he'd wanted to show her. Photos from the last gig. Now he'd have to have to give her detention again for this stunt...
He shook his head and rubbed his temples. He didn't know if this was Hooper's fault for corrupting his little sister or she'd naturally become this on her own... Somehow he had a feeling it was the latter or a combination of both.
He chuckled slightly thinking about it logically. After all, she knew that this was a book he hated...
