“It means no poison in your drink at the gala after the wedding.” She said with an amused and sly smirk on her lips. “I never said I’d never not become a widow, just not so early in our marriage as right after the wedding as I asked.” It was odd and Pansy was a little uncomfortable being so close and she pulled back her hair brushing her long black hair behind her shoulder and moved away from him to lean against the wall of the tower.
His words? She heard them and she wasn’t sure how to take it. No one but him would ever offer her such freedom and it made marrying him even more appealing. He was one of her closest mates. Well likely the closest since even he understood her hatred for the others of the group she was formerly in and he never wanted to be a part of to start with. No one else would ever understand her likely due to not being as close with her as he was in the past growing especially now.
She felt as if, they were the ONLY two of their year that had remained with any sense in them from the change in monarchy when Draco fell from his title as self proclaimed prince to loner and buffoon. And she had to really find the right words to say to him. Because honestly? She hadn’t expected such a freedom from anyone, let alone a marriage her parents had chosen for her. She had been sure she would end up like her mother and tied down forever from her dreams.
“I’ve yet to do something to openly humiliate you to anyone that matters. You know I am above such petty displays as others.” Sure she’d from time to time exchanged sarcastic comments through journals of his sexual status, perhaps even of other personal nature things. But it was just who they were together and how they were together. But Pansy hadn’t, and wouldn’t ever do something to truly damage Theodore’s name or his ‘face’ as it were with how she was.
Perhaps she and he would fight from time to time as they did even now but she’d never do that. It was something that she couldn’t stand. Why on earth be with someone if you hated them enough to destroy their name as well as your own just to get even with them? Pansy would be faithful and loyal to her husband, and being that, that was to be Theodore as soon as Yule came? She would be being faithful and loyal to him. She wasn’t the sort to bring PERSONAL and PRIVATE matters into public. That was for the lower sort of woman.
She was perhaps one of the hardest women to get to. She wasn’t lying when she said it was unlikely she would give herself to him. She had never really found herself in a position where she’d wanted to. She’d always despised who she was toying with physically. If she was teasing them as she was known for, it ended as soon as she was reached for and she left to remain untouched in any way.
Theodore? Well he was…different and yet not. She let him close to her, she even had allowed him close enough that a few times she’d nearly let him close to her while trying to torture him in the privacy of his dorm when they were alone and she was expressing her anger of being placed with him in her own way. That hug she’d given him was a lot for her and truth was it left her rather off because she’d let him hold her and had kissed him…and liked it? It left her…confused.
