Pansy nodded when he said that he was blaming Draco, she did as well. But for many more reasons than simply because he was acting differently than what he used to. “He should have never been in that position to start with. He was always too weak for it.”
Pansy? Had seen this side to Draco many times when others hadn’t. Sure, she fawned over him and hung all over him but she never liked him beyond a tool whereas others had or more specifically her future husband had always had her eye.
“Once order is restored in the house as it should be, Goyle will return with Draco to the bottom as will Daphne. I’m tired of listening to Daphne’s whoreish ways while I’m trying to study in the common room or while we’re at the table for the feasts.” She said shaking her head a little more. Things in their house were out of control. Daphne and Goyle weren’t the only ones but they were by far at the moment the worst ones out of the entire lot. Close behind Millicent and Tracey prying into her affairs.
“I didn’t say you had me on a leash.” She said her eyes regarding him seriously for once. She had never heard him say such a thing before. She KNEW why her mother placed him with him. They wanted her to settle down and stop trying to become her idol Bellatrix Lestrange. To stop trying to become someone she had always wanted to be, feared and independent from her husbands reputation. She was not her mother nor did she ever wish to be.
But then he moved and she arched her brow further up at him only to find that he wasn’t holding her but instead pulling her choker off. And…did he toss it out the tower window? She could almost make out someone shouting up toward the sky after he’d doe it.
Her eyes on him in disbelief. What pureblood male would do such a thing? Even when she was ‘with’ Draco she was expected to act and be a certain way and for awhile she played, now she refused.
And he accepted that?
And then his tone about his father and…She actually found herself for once really appreciating being placed with Theodore. Her cold gaze still remained on him, that defiance there but there was something of admiration as well considering he’d just thrown out something that likely was not going to be appreciated in being lost by their families. Which made her gaze down at the ring she wore before looking up at him again and, she wrapped her arms around him.
Well…hell froze over. Pansy was willingly placing her hands on him in a manor OTHER than meaning to work him up and leave to irritate him. Which she had done OFTEN when they’d been announced as betrothed. Now? Instead she found herself looking over him for the first time without her usual loathing for the idea of marriage.
And....she leaned forward and placed a kiss on his lips, chaste because she was at present being proper but one just the same before pulling back from him to regard him. “Then I see no reason to become a widow so early in our marriage.”
